Please follow this link for a closer look at what it's like to work at Children's Wisconsin: https://www.instagram.com/lifeatcw/ Job Title: Controlled Substance Coordinator Hours : 8am-4:30pm What you will do: The Controlled Substance Coordinator collaborates interdepartmentally with leadership to maintain a high quality and effective monitoring program of controlled substances. This program is created to detect and prevent misuse of controlled substances and minimize risk points by preparing and overseeing a standardized plan for monitoring controlled substance activity. This plan will provide guidelines and procedures for the reconciliation process of controlled substances that are dispensed for use, identify the process for evaluation of discrepancies, and report on, and make suggestions for process improvements. What you will need: Education High school diploma or equivalent required Experience Two Years Pharmacy Technician or other Healthcare Experience Required Completion of a Controlled Substances Diversion Prevention Course within Six MonthsPharmacy Technician Board Certification Required within One YearExhibits guiding behaviors that reflect Children's values and support our mission and vision.Ability to interpret written and verbal instruction.Skill in implementation strategies for system enhancement and improvement, including technology related products.Requires the ability to plan and control assignments and to act independently without specific instruction within the scope of assigned responsibilitiesKnowledge of current pharmacy automation opportunities including but not limited to Epic, robotics, automated dispensing devices, and other technology-driven pharmacy opportunities preferred.Requires analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed, detect deviations, and to develop plans and procedures to achieve resolution.Excellent communication skillsAttention to detailStrong computer knowledge including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint along with the ability to navigate other programs that may be implemented to help develop content. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Provides services in a setting where there is potential for exposure to blood and other high risk body fluids, chemotherapy agents, communicable disease and hazardous materials, chemicals, and waste.
