Pediatrician - San Jose, CA Compensation: $ 194,457 - $238,866/annually ( part-time or full-time,On-Call exempt & non- exempt position) Overview: Nexus HR is looking for a Pediatrician, for a reputable client in San Jose, CA. area. The ideal candidate must have board certification and eligibility in Pediatrics and must be Board Certified Pediatrics Practice. About the Job Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, rovides primary care in a Pediatrician clinic setting for the Indian Health Center of Santa Clara Valley (IHC). Ambulatory services only, no E.R., in-patient or on-call required. This position is part or full time with exempt status. The IHC is a Patient Centered Health Home and all employees are an integral part of this model of care delivery. Duties and Responsibilities: Provides culturally competent primary care in a community health clinic serving American Indian/Alaska Native and other low-income populationsAssists in the IHC’s chronic disease and health management programsProvides instruction and training to medical staff as neededWill provide for the physical, emotional, and social health of infants, children, teenagers, and young adultsDiagnose, treat, and help to prevent diseases and injuries to young peopleInvolves treating common infectious diseases, minor injuries, and immunizationsFollow and administer care to patients from infancy through young adulthoodSubmits reports as necessaryProvides emergency services when appropriateMakes referrals to appropriate sub-specialists for specialized examination, diagnosis, and treatmentCoordinates with other departments to insure adequate follow up and continuity of careWorks with other clinic health professionals in providing comprehensive high quality care to patientsParticipate as a proactive representative of the Patient Centered Health HomePerform duties utilizing the Team-Based ApproachPerforms other duties as assigned Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand and walk for extensive periods of timeManual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination for nursing careAbility to lift up to 35 poundsAbility to stoop, squat, or bend frequentlyCorrected vision and hearing within normal range to observe and communicate with patients and professional staff Working Conditions: Exposure to all patient elements, including communicable disease and blood borne pathogens. Will be working in a fast paced medical environment which can be stressful and constantly changing conditions. Normal working hours are from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm with one hour for lunch. However, working hours may vary depending upon need. Will need to be flexible in performing tasks with limited discretion in making judgment decisions. Minimum Qualifications: Possession of Medical Doctor degree or D.O. degree from an accredited college or university requiredBoard certified or eligible in PediatricsOne year of clinical experience in a clinic environmentMust be insurable for liability as a PediatricianCurrent knowledge and skills in pediatricsAbility to maintain good working relationships with staffA strong commitment to care for an under served populationExperience in providing care for multi-cultural populationsSuperlative customer service skillsKnowledge of and ability to relate to the American Indian community and other minority populationsFluency in English/Spanish a plusFlexibility, initiative, and reliabilityExcellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to work with health care and human services professionalsPossession of a current California driver’s license and automobile insurancePreference is given to qualified American Indian/Alaskan Natives in accordance with the American Indian Preference Act (Title25, US Code Sections 472, 473 and 473b).
