Job Description Summary The Senior Financial Risk Management Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining quantitative and analytical models or reasoning in support of the company's financial risk management effort. This person will focus on derivatives use, hedging, and Asset Liability Management (ALM) for equity and rate guarantees embedded in products such as variable annuities, indexed universal life and synthetic guaranteed investment contracts. Job Description Responsibilities Model and quantify risk; act upon information gathered and partner with the first line to find solutions to identified risk issues. Participate in projects and/or represent the risk function for a committee; provide opinion on issues based on independent analysis and insight. Maintain and execute compliance monitoring for company derivative programs as a formal part of Transamerica's Sarbanes Oxley control structure. Serve as a subject matter expert by researching known issues and developing solutions. Brainstorm potential risks to the Company from management actions and build out models to illustrate issues. Work with front line partners to engage in key strategic projects across the business. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance, actuarial, economics, mathematics or other analytical field Five years of experience in financial risk management, financial management or related area Strong analytical and data skills Ability to understand complex problems and frame appropriate questions Ability to present and interact with various levels of management Strong attention to detail and accuracy Preferred Qualifications Experience with derivatives including some or all of modeling, valuation or accounting At least intermediate programming proficiency in VBA allowing flexible modification of Excel applications Advanced degree in an analytical field Relevant professional certifications such as FSA, ASA or CFA Programming proficiency in Python, C++ or R Working Conditions Hybrid Office environment Remote working environment Compensation The US salary for this position generally ranges between $85,000 - $110,000 annually. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law. Additionally in the US, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company's discretion.
