JOB SUMMARY Cashier responsibilities include receiving payments and issuing receipts, demonstrate great customer service and keeping track of all cash and credit transactions. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in a customer service position and good knowledge of how cash registers operate. ESSENTIAL DUTIES - Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Greets customers at the cashier window in a pleasant and professional manner. Computes customer bills. Receives cash, checks and credit card payments from customers' and records amounts received. Makes change and issues receipts to customers. Provides cash refunds or credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise. Reconciles cash drawer daily. Maintains and files repair orders, parts invoices, rental forms, lists missing documents. Reconciles repair orders to ensure all invoices are closed in a timely manner. Knows and understands the current federal, state, and local laws which govern the cashier role. Maintains high levels of customer service that are consistent with Team Ford Lincoln standards. Maintains a professional appearance and keeps work area neat and clean. Handles customers complaints with integrity and poise and, when necessary, refers dissatisfied customers to the appropriate individuals for resolution. QUALIFICATIONS Ability to calculate sales and change quickly Accountability and accuracy in reconciling sales receipts and records Service-oriented and willing to help patrons Customer service skills to maintain positive customer relationships, encourage customer loyalty and resolve conflicts Excellent communication to interact with team members and customers Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment Attention to detail to maintain accurate inventory and transaction records Knowledge of point-of-sale systems LANGUAGE SKILLS Must be able to read, write, comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization in English. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers as well as to multiply and divide in all units of measure. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to stand, sit, walk, bend for long periods of time.
