NERC is the Electric Reliability Organization (ERO) for North America, subject to oversight by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and Provincial authorities in Canada. NERC's jurisdiction includes users, owners, and operators of the bulk power system, which serves nearly 400 million people. Our Mission The vision for the ERO Enterprise, which is comprised of NERC and the six Regional Entities, is a highly reliable and secure North American bulk power system. Your Impact The Senior Strategic Business Analyst acts as a pivotal advocate and analyst for both business units and the Business Technology organization. This role is designed to bridge the gap between Business Technology services and business goals, ensuring a balanced push and pull of strategic initiatives and technology solutions. This professional will focus on identifying business opportunities, advocating for business within Business Technology, and ensuring strategic initiatives are supported and effectively executed. This position reports to the Director of Project Management. Your Role Develop a thorough understanding of the business's strategy, processes, services, and the operational context. Engage with business units to identify and analyze potential projects and business strategies, assessing their viability and strategic alignment. Advocate effectively for business needs within the BT organization, articulating the 'why' behind initiatives and ensuring their support. Represent BT's capabilities and constraints to the business, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring technology solutions meet business objectives. Lead the development of business cases and project justifications. Influence business and BT stakeholders, selling services and advocating for necessary resources and support. Maintain and expand relationships across the organization, ensure alignment with business unit strategies. Contribute strategically to the planning and execution of business. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, or a related field and/or relevant experience. Proven expertise in strategic business analysis, with a strong capability to lead and advocate for business needs in a technological environment. Proficiency in statistical analysis, critical thinking, problem-solving and determining net present value calculations. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and drive change. Understanding of best practices in the industry and technical knowledge pertinent to the business and Business Technology sectors. The capacity to work independently and technologically-agnostically, focusing on business value over specific technology solutions. Other A background check will be conducted prior to employment. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire. This position has been classified as exempt. The position may be based remotely but must be able to travel to NERC offices, if needed.
