You will lead a team focused on enhancing the precision and efficiency of our robotic solutions through innovative control strategies. This role requires a strategic blend of technical expertise, leadership, and project management skills. Additional Information: The pay range for this position is $140,000 - $180,000 + equity + benefits. Since the company is pre-revenue, we all view our equity as being a key driver of why we choose to work at Miso. Our salary ranges are determined by data from our industry peers, the level of responsibility, job-related skills required, training, education, experience, and the current stage of Miso’s growth. The range posted for this role represents a range that Miso Robotics, in good faith, believes it is willing to pay at the time of this posting. What You’ll Do Lead the design, development, and implementation of control systems for kitchen automation robotics Manage a team of engineers, guiding the planning and execution of projects that enhance system performance and reliability Develop advanced control algorithms and system architectures that improve robot adaptability and efficiency Oversee the integration of control solutions with mechanical and software systems to ensure optimal operation Champion the application of industry best practices in control engineering, including model-based design and predictive control techniques Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align control strategies with overall business objectives Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation Oversee project timelines and resources, ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality software solutions Promote a culture of continuous improvement by incorporating feedback, learning from failures, and celebrating successes Ensure adherence to and continuous improvement of software development lifecycle processes, including agile methodologies, code standards, and testing practices Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred 7+ years of experience in robotic control engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role Proven track record in designing and implementing control systems for automation or robotics Expertise in control theory, system dynamics, and simulation tools Strong analytical skills, with a deep understanding of kinematics, dynamics, and robotics Exceptional leadership and communication skills; proficient in project management and agile methodologies Excellent problem-solving abilities and a capacity to drive projects to completion Expertise in Linux, CMake, Git, Docker, and databases, with a solid understanding of OOP, algorithms, data structures, and software design patterns Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to learn rapidly Must be available to work at our office in Pasadena and have experience in a fast-paced startup or fast-growing company environment Preferred Experience with: Experience with the Robot Operating System (ROS) Experience with MoveIt2 and behavior trees Experience with JIRA Strong attention to detail, analytical skills and ability to learn at hyperspeed Powered by JazzHR
