Join our winning team as aImprovement Engineer for Chlor-Alkali assetsat our Plaquemine, LA manufacturing site. In your role as an Improvement Engineer, you will lead the plant-level improvement process by gathering and analyzing data, evaluating improvement opportunities, and implementing improvement projects. This role ensures plant improvements align with business objectives via the Plant Specific Technology Plan to close performance and reliability gaps, reduce costs, and increase productivity (capacity creep, reliability, etc.). In addition, the Improvement Engineer provides expense and capital project support, which may include filling various roles in the global project execution work processes, such as project manager, manufacturing representative, Six Sigma green/black belt, etc.Improvement Engineer Position Responsibilities: * Works to optimize operations to meet Business and plant goals (environmental, health & safety, production, cost, productivity, quality, energy, reliability). * Participates in advanced troubleshooting, coaches others to learn these skills, and ensures findings are documented for future usage. * Initiates changes to Plant Operating procedures to ensure they are valid and up to date. * Implements best practices to optimize operations, including owning the pipeline and tracking tools. * Ensures regulatory and responsible care compliance via operating discipline. Provides technical support to projects. * Works with Plant Process Control Coordination Roles to ensure process control is optimized in the facility. * Serves as Subject Matter Expert for any appointed areas of expertise (e.g., process safety, process area / equipment, work process disciplines, etc.), and serve on plant on-call rotation. * Partners with plant operations to generate process data for identifying technology gaps, improvement opportunities, develop job scope and technical execution support turning turnarounds, start-ups, and shutdowns.Improvement Engineer Position Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree* in Engineering; Chemical or Mechanical Engineering discipline preferred. * 1+ years of project/manufacturing experience. * Work experience with managing vendor proposals and quotations, contractor bids and development of desired solutions for projects preferred. * Demonstrated ability to problem solve and work in a team environment. * Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills - verbal and written. * Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and possess a valid US driver's license. * Prior Olin experience preferred.
