About Us Cygnet was established in 1988 as an independent provider of health and social care services in England, Scotland and Wales. Your Role Service Line: We currently have opportunity for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to work in our Mental Health Forensic (Low and Medium Secure) service line. We may be able to consider candidates for a Band 6 role dependent on experience. Summary of the site: Cygnet Hospital Bury is a large site with 15 wards across three separate hospitals. We have a Regional Lead of Occupational Therapy and three Head Occupational Therapists on site to support the different services at Bury. Clinical: You would be responsible for the backssment and treatment of occupational dysfunction for 13 service users. The clinical role would focus on one of our Low or Medium Secure mental health wards in the Hudson Hospital. You will work with a full multidisciplinary team in a coordinated way to support each service user develop their skills and move through our clinical model of care from admission to discharge. Each ward has their own occupational therapist and activity coordinator with an OT assistant covering 2 wards. Our secure services are therapy and recovery focused, providing backssment, treatment and rehabilitation for both men and women. The aim is to effectively progress service users though the secure care pathway, into the least restrictive environment possible while working to reduce the possibility of readmission back into secure care. Occupational Therapy Directorate Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.
