They require a Propulsion Engineer Team Lead to lead the team on the design, development, testing and operations of the complete propulsion systems for our missions, whilst collaborating across all functions within the engineering teams, and with suppliers across the world. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to lead a team of highly talented engineers working on cutting edge technology, from their new state-of-the-art office and cleanroom facility in Oxford. The company offer hybrid and flexible working. Responsibilities for the Propulsion Engineer Team Lead: - Lead the team on the development and design activities for the Propulsion Sub-systems on spacecraft: - derive and maintain sub-system requirements - define and develop sub-system architecture - analysis, design and sizing of both chemical propulsion CP and electric propulsion EP systems - Ensure rapid feasibility studies into different propulsion scenarios and architectures, including development of any models and tools necessary for analysis are performed effectively. - Coordinate with other teams at sub-system and at system level to define Con Ops, ICDs, development and verification plans. - Lead in the selection of relevant components for CP and EP, understanding the intricacies of buy/make decisions. - Support engineers and suppliers with analysis, testing functional e. g. thrust analysis, pressure drop analysis, environmental e. g. vibe, thermal, TVAC, requirements verification, analysis of test data and correlation with propulsion technical models. -.
