EMERGENCY JOB POSTING SESSIONAL CO-INSTRUCTOR (0.25 FCE) CHL 3052H: Practical Bioethics, Fall/Winter 2023-24 – CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Course CHL3052H: Practical Bioethics (capstone) This is required course in the Master of Health Sciences (MHSc) in Bioethics program. The MHSc in Bioethics is a two-year professional degree program for health professionals working in health settings. This half-year course is a capstone course held continuously over the Fall and Winter terms in the second year of the MHSc program. The course engages students in reflecting on what they have learned throughout the MHSc program and in exploring ways to apply bioethics knowledge in their professional work settings. In-class sessions focus on approaches to leading ethics change, influencing policies, evaluating ethics quality, and fostering ethics conversations in practice. Students develop and complete an individual capstone project addressing health ethics issues with the supervision of a faculty member or other supervisor and the support of peers. The course culminates in a full-day symposium during which students present their capstone projects. Estimated course enrolment : 12 Estimated TA support : 0 Schedule : Schedule: Fridays: Sept 15, Oct 13, Nov 17, Jan 5, 1-5pm and Mar 22, 8:15am-5pm Sessional dates : September 1, 2023 to April 30, 2024 Salary : $4,728.95 (Sessional Lecturer I) $4,965.40 (Sessional Lecturer I Long Term) $5,060.89 (Sessional Lecturer II) $5,163.31 (Sessional Lecturer II Long Term) $5,181.38 (Sessional Lecturer III) $5,285.01 (Sessional Lecturer III Long Term) (Salary inclusive of 4% or 6% vacation pay, where applicable) Please note that should rates stipulated in the Collective Agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Qualifications : Masters or Ph D Degree in Bioethics, experience with and detailed knowledge of bioethics policy and practice in health settings, familiarity with the.
