Weare recruiting for a Moving and Handling Advisorto support a moving with dignity project with the aim to reduce double handed care packages to single handed care. The project to date has proved very successful and additional staffing has been agreed for 2 years to support the project. Professionals interested in this role must have experience of working with people who have complex needs and will be responsible for the completion of moving and handling backssments, detailed risk backssment reports, and offering moving and handling training to formal and informal carers. They should have knowledge of up to date moving and handling techniques, including moving and handling equipment and a good understanding of complex physical disabilities. Experience in the provision of equipment andmajor adaptations and good IT skills would be an advantage. This is a post to support our single handed care project and you will join our existing moving and handling team. Essential Requirements: : Diploma in Occupational Therapy or BSc in Occupational Therapy and Registered with the Health Professions Council : HCPC Registered : Moving and Handling skills and training is required : UK experience either within NHS and/or Social Services : Must have excellent communication skills and will be able to demonstrate credibility with professionals from partner agencies. : Must have the ability to backss needs, prepare care plans and implement accordingly with a working knowledge of current legislation.
