As a data engineer, - you will be involved in developing and delivering data pipelines using various open source tools & technology. - you will be working with a team of talented data engineers and have the opportunity to contribute to our data products - you will work in an agile environment and will actively participate in all the sprint related activities including the demo - you will be provided with opportunities to present your work to upper management (Director and above) Must Have Skills/Requirements: 1) Big Data: 1+ year of hands on experience 2) Relational database: 1+ years of hands on experience 3) Java/Python Programming: 1+ years of hands on experience 4) Setting up data pipelines using Java or any open source tool (Nifi preferred): 1+ years of 5) Kafka: 1+ years of hands on experience Nice to have Skills: Enterprise scheduler (Auto Sys, etc. ) orchestrating pipelines FI/Banking experience Agile experience Soft Skills: Hands on but leading the development (guide other team members, delegate) Strong communication skills Location(s): Canada : Ontario : Toronto Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas.
