We have the experience to lead, the know-how to succeed, and the compassion to care.Job Description: TechLaw is seeking an experienced environmental scientist in our Las Vegas, NV, office to provide technical and project management leadership supporting the EPA's Emergency Response Team (ERT) Response Engineering and Analytical Contract (REAC) team-a critical link in our nation's environmental safety support system. . REAC teams bring next-level advanced support and respond to national and international incidents involving releases of oil and hazardous materials and at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites. The REAC team has been called upon to conduct environmental analyses in the aftermath of numerous incidents, such as the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001, the Hart Senate Office Building and U.S. Postal Service facilities anthrax threats, and the Space Shuttle Columbia accident. The ideal candidate will be have a degree in engineering, geology or environmental science with 10-15 years of project management experience. . You'll work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with scientists and project managers who are experts in hydrogeology, geology, chemistry, risk assessment, soil science, sampling and analysis, hazardous waste investigations, remediation, and public outreach. We assist the EPA, other government agencies, and commercial clients on various contracts throughout the U.S. This position will involve project management, evaluating and preparing environmental investigation and remediation work plans, designs and reports, developing strategies for the remediation and closure of large sites, evaluating site documentation for compliance with federal, state and local standards, report writing, and oversight of field investigation/remediation activities.TechLaw offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, a generous benefits package, training (40-hour OSHA, 8-hour OSHA Refresher), and medical monitoring. We will provide opportunities for learning and expanding knowledge and skills, with the chance to New cross-train in several other environmental consulting work areas at TechLaw.Salary Range: $65,000 to $100,000 DOERequired Qualifications:· A bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, hydrogeology, environmental science or related field· 10-15 years of experience in a variety of environmental investigation activities, such as sampling, assessments, and document review and preparation, preferably involving sites regulated under CERCLA and/or RCRA· Project management skills including scheduling, budgeting, and resource management· The flexibility and ability to travel 25% of the time, including outside of regular work hours· Excellent reading comprehension and writing skillsPreferred Qualifications:· Prior experience working on Superfund sites, knowledge of CERCLA and/or RCRA, and experience with Risk Assessment· Professional Engineering (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) certificationPhysical Requirements:· The ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.· Ability to work while wearing PPE (personal protective equipment) and a respirator· Ability to pass annual medical clearance physicals for field activities· Experience with standard operating procedures and perform basic mathematical calculations Job Posted by ApplicantPro
