Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant Department: Clinical Staff Direct Supervisor: Nurse Manager Location: Any or All 3 Offices- Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, Hayden FLSA Status: Non-exempt Summary Provides assistance to the nurses and providers to care for infants, children, and adolescents by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assist nurses and providers in maintaining their daily patient flow. Assess and record patients' medical information and vital signs. Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records. Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, equipment, or supplies and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained. Prepare patient handouts and books for nurse and provider schedules. Check temperatures and alarms for the vaccine refrigerator and freezer and document findings. Stock nurse's station and all patient rooms with the appropriate supplies and equipment. Put away shipments of medical supplies and equipment in the appropriate locations. Retrieve electronic lab results. Conduct weekly medical supply inventory. Conduct weekly vaccine inventory. Scan vaccine consents and other paper work from the nurses. Assist nurses in maintaining provider's daily patient schedule and greet and room patients when they arrive for appointments as needed. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to patients, families, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to accurately read and record numbers of weight and measurement. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of Internet software and Word Processing software. They should also have the ability to learn and work with the Practice Management software, EHR (Electronic Health Record) software, and various other programs that Coeur d'Alene Pediatrics uses. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations The individual must have valid CNA certificate.All Coeur d'Alene Pediatrics employees are required to be CPR certified. A free CPR class is provided to employees and re-certification is required every two years.All employees who drive their vehicle while on the clock must have a valid driver's license and current automobile insurance. Other Skills and Abilities This job operates in a professional office environment. This role requires the ability to use standard office equipment such as multi-line phones, computers, printers, scanners, copiers, and fax machines.The individual must have the ability to adhere to all HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) policies and maintain confidentiality with all aspects of information in accordance with Coeur d'Alene Pediatrics, State, and Federal regulations. Other Qualifications Must be able to perform work at any of the three office locations (Coeur d'Alene, Hayden, and Post Falls), as needed.
