Job Description Duration: 8 months Positions available: 1 Intake Date: Monday, May 6, 2024 Application Deadline: Monday, January 29, 2024 (we will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis) Minimum Qualifications: Must currently be enrolled in a recognized and accredited Canadian post-secondary institution throughout the duration of the co-op term. You must also be returning to a post-secondary institution after the co-op term is completed. Depending on the needs and location of the team, you will need to work PST or MDT or relocate to a specific office (Vancouver or site-based) Desired background: We are specifically looking for a student with a background in Civil engineering. The successful candidate must possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with individuals of a diverse set of backgrounds. Responsibilities Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Participation in the health and safety programs of Teck to ensure that everyone on site goes home safe and healthy every day Update data systems and prepare internal communication Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and use detailed designs for civil projects on site Assist with coordinating civil projects on active mine sites as well as organize, schedule and control the cost of projects; providing status reports on progress Prepare quantity take-off and cost analysis Planning, scheduling and managing construction contractors as well as monitoring progress Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business Qualifications Working towards an Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in Civil Engineering Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously Comfortable working in a dynamic work environment,.
