Description:
Specialty Prior Authorization Coordinator is needed for high-level infusion drugs, procedures, and testing. Applicants should have excellent time management, be able to multi-task, possess extraordinary critical thinking skills, and minimum of 3+ years of prior authorization experience in a similar field. The applicant will be our primary contact with referral sources. Should have excellent oral and written communication. The position will cross-train as a Reimbursement Specialist. This position will work closely with the clinical staff and billing department. Ensure accurate, timely prior authorization from insurance carriers to optimize revenue. The Intake Coordinator is considered the front line of patient contact and role of significant importance. Vast knowledge of Nevada Insurance and National Plans is required along with Prior Authorization and Medical Assistant Background. The role entails heavy phone and computer work.Duties and Responsibilities: Verification and digital entering all new and existing patient referrals Scheduling patients for Infusion Therapy Treatments Answering phones, handling incoming faxes and emails, attaching and sorting patient documents digitally to their accounts, faxing and calling for missing documentation Verification of Medical and Pharmacy Benefits and Eligibility Notifying patients of copays, coinsurance, deductibles and enrollment in copay assistance programs Review of referrals for completeness and accuracy Obtain Prior Authorizations for new service set ups and re-authorization for continuing treatments Other duties as assigned Required Skills: Previous experience with Prior Authorizations is a must Medical Assistant training Proficient Medical Terminology Specialty Pharmacy, Home Health, and Infusion Therapy experience is a plus Superb Math skills including the ability to handle drug conversions Local Nevada and National insurance plan experience Clear concise communication skills both verbally and written Ability to type a minimum of 55 WPM Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, and Excel Ability to handle high-pressure work environments with critical deadlines Environment/Work Atmosphere: All work is performed onsite remote work is not available Fast pace and busy A growing company that supports and encourages employees to pursue their passions Family oriented company Comfortable work/life balance with set hours Casual dress jean-friendly
