Department Wheels Department Department Mission Provide mountain bike instruction to participants of varying ability to improve their skills by executing meaningful MTB program developing leadership, character, citizenship, and fitness. Location Summit Bechtel Reserve (SBR) Contract Time Period: C May 24 - Aug 7 Monthly Salary $1190 - $1470 + Room & Board Direct Report Mountain Bike Manager Employee Profile and Desired Traits ● High level emotional intelligence ● Active in team dynamics, conflict prevention /resolution , and identifying customer needs ● Cheerful attitude and servant leadership disposition ● Dedicated customer service and people oriented ● Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn ● Ability to interact with men and women of all ages and maturity levels of staff/customers Principle Responsibilities ● Present the MTB program through cheerful, helpful, and efficient service ● Ensure that participants have a safe and enjoyable experience ● Assist in the set up and takedown of the MTB trails, tracks, and other facilities ● Properly inspect, appropriately use, and maintain all bikes, equipment, and supplies ● Keep program areas inspected, safe, neat, clean, and organized ● Assist in other wheel programs as needed ● Turn accurate paperwork in to supervisor in a timely manner ● Other duties or projects as assigned by SBR leadership ● Abide by policies and procedure outlined in the SBR staff handbook Qualifications & Training ● 18 years of age or older ● Must be able to demonstrate proficiency riding a mountain bike ● Preferred: Experience maintaining mountain bikes ● Preferred: Experience teaching MTB ● Preferred: Experience maintaining trails, tracks, or dirt jumps ● Good communication and organizational skills ● Ability to use Microsoft Teams daily for work related communication and coordination ● Be or become a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America Performance Results ● Completes contract period with 2-4 positive experiences ● Receive one or more Staff Appreciation Cards from staff or participants ● Contribute at least one improvement to Biking program ● Provide at least one memorable moment that matters to a participant Physical Requirements ● Up to 8 hours a day of either standing, walking, biking, and the ability to lift 65 lbs. ● Can pass the physical exam and approved for SBR height and weight requirements HERE Uniform Summit staff uniform Housing 10x12' Platform Tent; Foxtrot Staff Camp Expected Weekly Hours 45 - 55
