CONFIGURATION ENGINEER Huntsville, AL The qualified applicant will become part of Space Launch System (SLS) program, located in Huntsville, Alabama. Responsibilities : Perform configuration control on engineering artifacts Support the release of engineering artifacts within an avionics group Support real-time problem resolution of issues encountered during release of artifacts Work with Responsible Engineers, customer technical staff, suppliers, and SLS teammates to ensure the release process is sound Apply standard engineering practices to plan and execute engineering activities within an avionics group Requirements : Ability to obtain a Customer/NASA background check, which requires US Citizenship Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics Familiarity with common configuration tools (like APDM) Experience with configuration management Strong communication skills Capable of working in a multi-tasking environment while supporting multiple activates concurrently Capable of working with minimal supervision Preferred Experience: Experience in System Engineering Experience with avionics hardware and software Experience with Scheduling Education Requirements: Degree and typical experience in configuration/engineering Bachelor's degree Five or more years' experience OR Master's degree with experience Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. A Security Clearance is not required. EOE
