This role will ensure employees are paid accurately and timely. Review, analyze, and input payroll exceptions to ensure accuracy. Compliance with all internal and external audit requirements. Compliance with multiple workgroups guidelines and company policies. Working under the direction of the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the timely processing and accurate production of hourly and salaried payroll. As a Tax Coordinator, your duties will include but not be limited to: Manage workflows to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely, in accordance with processing deadlines per venue for hourly associates. Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, separations and changes to pay rates Ensures compliance with federal, state and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices Works with the Payroll Manager and Accounting Department as needed to reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies Performs a wide variety of payroll and tax processing activities Preparing, review and submit quarterly tax returns or multiple worksite reports for all jurisdictions not covered by vendor. Regular audits and updating of state unemployment tax rates in vendor system. Setting up new state and local taxes with payroll vendor (add/change/delete). Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely. Perform cyclical payroll and tax activities including Annual Earned Income Tax Credit notifications. Auditing schedules, POS reporting for daily labor, and crunch time data entries per venue. Auditing weekly payroll to ensure all additional adds per venues is accounted for and raise risk to Payroll manager. Maintain employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential. Monthly audits of payroll/tax system to ensure systems are aligned and activities are coordinated. Providing general troubleshooting support and assistance to various team-members or employees. Coordinates and interacts with federal and state agencies on specialized issues pertaining to employee compensation and deductions. Compute and process manual/off cycle check requests. Oversees the maintenance of employee payroll records. Maintains security and extreme confidentiality of payroll information. Provide process improvement recommendations. Update and maintain documentation of department processes, procedures and controls. Responsibility for running small projects, as needed. Requirements: Associates or Bachelors degree preferred. Three to five years payroll experience in an entertainment environment required. Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel and Access required. (VLOOK-UP). Strong knowledge of Federal/State laws as they pertain to payroll administration. Strong written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of company. Sound problem solving, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines. Strong organizational, planning, and follow up skills. To ensure optimal efficiency and error-free operations. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of payroll principles, practices, regulations and procedures. Skill in evaluating and analyzing technical payroll activities. Knowledge of applicable state and federal payroll and related tax regulations, legislation and guidelines including, but not limited to writs of garnishment, child support, levies, subpoenas, non-resident alien and U.S. tax treaties. Knowledge of the practice, methods and techniques of process improvement. Skill in both verbal and written communication. Skill in preparing and performing detailed report and computations. Skill in performing detailed computations. Skill in having fun and getting the job done!
