Rotman School of Management Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto) Description: The Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time teaching-stream appointment in the Accounting Area. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2024, or shortly thereafter. Applicants must have earned a Ph D in accounting by the time of appointment or soon thereafter, or a graduate degree in accounting and a professional accounting designation with relevant industry experience. We seek candidates whose teaching interests complement and enhance our existing strengths. Applicants must have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, including a strong demonstrated ability to integrate both theory and practice, evidence of effective communication and presentation skills, and a demonstrated mastery of their subject area; a commitment to excellence in pedagogical inquiry and teaching innovation; and an interest in teaching-related scholarly activities in accounting. Candidates must have teaching experience in a degree granting program, including lecture preparation and delivery, and curriculum development. Experience in teaching both undergraduate and graduate students in a management program in accounting is an asset. Applicants must have the ability to teach Fundamentals of Accounting and Finance. They must also have the ability to teach graduate-level accounting data analytics or graduate-level courses in managerial accounting or taxation, with a preference for candidates who have the ability to teach accounting data analytics.
