Reporting to the Senior Engineering Supervisor, Geotechnical, the Geotechnical Engineer or Engineer-in-Training is responsible for supporting the geotechnical aspects of mine planning and design through to execution, including pit expansions, slope monitoring, geotechnical investigation programs and design compliance. To be successful, we require someone with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, who can develop and communicate practical recommendations to mine planners and operations personnel. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills and proven experience in overseeing and coordinating multiple internal resources and external contractors in projects. This role requires a motivated self-starter, who can multi-task effectively and work collaboratively with others in a technical team-based environment. Demonstrated experience with project management and training in Geotechnical Engineering and mine planning will be considered an asset. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a range of engineering design management and projects in a world-class operation. There will be abundant opportunities to grow your knowledge base and apply your site-based geotechnical skills and share your expertise with a variety of Teck mine sites, and to participate in periodic Geotechnical Review Boards. Both field and office work will be required as part of the role. The shift schedule will be a rotation of 7 days on, followed by 7 days off, 12-hour dayshift (7am to 7pm), with the potential to change to a 4 day on, 3 day off rotation (Monday to Thursday) depending on business requirements. .
