Date Posted: 11/28/2023 Req ID: 35109 Faculty/Division: Faculty of Arts & Science Department: Department of Art History Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto) Description: Course Number and Title: FAH337H1S – Rivalry, Imitation and Envy in Italian Renaissance Art Course Description: This course examines works in different art media, including painting, sculture and prints, produced from 1400 to 1600, discussing how artistic practice of imitation and emulation stimulated the development of individual styles. In addition, this course addresses notions of disruptive rivalry, and the representation of slander and envy. Estimated Course Enrolment: 100 students Estimated TA Support: 200 hours Class Schedule: Wednesdays 3-5 pm. This course is currently designated to meet in-person. Please note that, in keeping with current circumstances, the course delivery mode may change as determined by the Faculty or Department. Sessional Dates of Appointment: January 1, 2024 to April 30, 2024; Final backssment period April 10-30, 2024. Please note: This position includes the completion of any course work and marking not finished by December 31, 2023. Salary: $9,457.89 for Sessional Lecturer I; $9,930.79 for Sessional Lecturer I - Long Term; $10,121.76 for Sessional Lecturer II; $10,326.61 for Sessional Lecturer II - Long Term $10,362.76 for Sessional Lecturer III; $10,570.01 for Sessional Lecturer III - Long Term These rates include vacation pay Should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Minimum Qualifications: Ph D in Art History, preferably in Early Modern and Baroque European art; if the Ph D is in progress, the qualifying exam must already have been passed. Demonstrated skill in teaching, writing, and communication in the history of art are required. Preferred Qualifications: Previous teaching experience and/or tutorial leadership in this or a.
